What is a Sit and Go?
A Sit and Go is quite simply a poker tournament. It is a poker tournament with no scheduled starting time that starts whenever the necessary players have put up their money. Single-table sit-and-goes with nine or ten players are the norm, but multi-table games are common as well. Also called sit n' gos and a variety of other similar spellings.
Sit n Go games are fast and there are a certain number of pre-determined players per game and the game starts after all play slots are filled.
What is a Sit n Go tournament?
A sit and go tournament is an online tournament usually with just 10 players. Sit n Go tournaments can last anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, so they are very short tournaments.
All sit and go players have to buy-in for the same amount. All players also start with the same number of chips and only one player is left standing at the end.
For example, you might buy into a $10 Sit and Go tournament which means the total buy-in's equals $100. There is usually an entry fee of a dollar or two to add to the buy-in amount. There are a series of "blinds" (stages) which start low and these are increased as the game goes on. The last three players receive the total of the buy-in amount split between them (the winner usually gets half).
Now you know exactly what is a sit n go, it's time to become a Sit and Go shark!
